Daughters of Charity Chapter in Knoxville

Daughters of Charity chapter hosted an Advent Quiet Day at Holy Cross, Knoxville, on Saturday, December 7, beginning with Morning Prayer.  Fr. Bill Martin from St. Michael and All Angels, Arden NC was the keynote speaker; he was a superb retreat leader.  He was assisted by Deacon Thad Osborne of Holy Cross.  All were blessed by this retreat and our Daughters chapter hopes to host again in years to come.

Elizabeth Chapter of St. Timothy’s in South Carolina recently made dresses and sanitary supplies for girls and teens in Kisumu, Kenya. Fr. Fred Ochieng transported the donations to Kenya. They made and sent 126 prs of under panties and 80 reusable/washable sanitary napkins to Kenya.  The chapter also gave Fr Fred a gift of $50.00 to cover the expense of the extra baggage to transport them. Pictured below: Gifts of dresses and sanitary pads for Kenya, Janet Brasfield with Fr Fred Ochieng and his family, and Epiphany their youngest daughter and our dress ‘model’. Fr. Fred said it is a good day if you only make one child smile.

Christ Church Anglican is blessed to support the Adult and Teen Challenge Center (TC) in Midland Texas Adult & Teen Challenge provides Christian faith-based, residential care and discipleship training to young people and adults who struggle with life-controlling problems. Since 2020 the daughters of the St. Helena chapter have chosen, as our service project, to support and thank the women’s center by providing a Christmas dinner celebration. We are blessed by these women who have suffered many trials and have turned to the Lord in new found faith, love and redemption.  They show us how to be thankful for the blessings we receive each day and to turn to God in all things.
